We are independent Evangelical Catholic Churches who utilize the structures of organized religion to aid us in serving the Kingdom of God here on earth. Our strong faith in Jesus Christ makes us believe that nothing and no one can keep us from fulfilling the mission He has commissioned us to accomplish.
"If it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God!” (Acts 5:39)
Through the aid of organized religion, we are striving to live our faith bearing the fruits of the Spirit in everything we say and do.
"The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." (Galatians 5:23-23)
Our prayer is that this is how people will see us, that this will inspire them to do the same, and then the Kingdom of God will be more fully realized here on earth as it is in heaven.
Jesus said, "Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions." (Matthew 7:20)
To free us from that which keeps us from fulfilling our mission, we needed to do some pruning of a leader who was producing rotten grapes. This was not something we desired or sought out, but it was the consequence of the words and actions of this person.
Jesus said, “He cuts away every branch of mine that doesn't produce fruit. But he trims clean every branch that does produce fruit, so that it will produce even more fruit.”
Sadly, throughout history leaders within organized religion have not produced good fruit when they have tried to keep the People of God from God’s abundant grace.
Jesus said, “What sorrow awaits you experts in religious law! For you remove the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.” (Luke 11:52)
By keeping Jesus Christ as the head of our church, and by striving to be obedient to Christ in everything we say and do, the Fellowship of Evangelical Catholic Churches is united in fulfilling the mission of the Kingdom of God while also recognizing that we live within the sinfulness of this world. Therefore, when confronted, we reject the pretense of those who set themselves up against the knowledge of God.
"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
